Who are some psychopathic killers/villains along these lines from movies and comics?
Who are some of horror killers/super villains with the following traits:
-Are very sadistic and kill for 'fun'... They seem to get joy out of it. It's like their hobby.
-Are usually very happy and 'cheerful' as they go around causing mayhem
-Have a sense of humor to go along with the terrible acts they commit; usually spitting out cheesy one liners or puns.
-Completely psychotic and very brutal.
The joker is the first that comes to mind. Not sure if you've seen the TV series "Dexter", but the title character is one of the most interesting characters I've ever come across. He fits your criteria almost perfectly.
The most dark & gritty & brutal Batman comic?
Hey guys, ive taken a bigger interest in batman recently and I really enjoy the whole gritty, darker and psychotic portrayal of batman. What comic do you recommend for this? Ive heard the frank miller stories are quite good? Preferably a modern one if possible. Thanks!!!
Oh the Vampire trilogy is pretty dark. But it's set in a paralel universe...where Batman is a vampire.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_and_…

While I didn't enjoy the art, I was really taken with "Lovers & Madmen," which was released not long ago. For really recent insanity with a more crazy Batman & a darker Joker, try "Batman & Son" followed by "Batman RIP." The latter has the best art ever on top of it.

"The Long Halloween" is a big favorite among Batfans & then there's "No Man's Land."

"Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth," & "Batman:Secrets" have a nightmarish overtone to them.

"Return of the Dark Knight" is the famouse Frank Miller work that helped shrug off Batman from's campy days, but is set in an alternate universe.

If you have a Boarders bookstore, you should be able to find all of these at the bleeding edge of the manga area.
Wat is a good name for a race ouf aliens that are brutal, bulky , killing machines?
im writing a comic for my art class about a group of aliens trying to exterminate the humans. There are two branches to the aliens species, a taller species that are very fragile but make up with it for their intellect, and a shorter (but still ~7 ft tall) stronger bulkier breed with low intelligence and will follow the upper classes demands. Basically an extraterestrial alguya

Spawn Comics Question???? Tell Why They Are Your Favorites....
Who are your top 5 favorite Spawn enemies???

Mine are...

1. Chapel. The man who killed Spawn (If it turns out to be someone else dont tell me caus I havent got that far in the comics) He is awesome and has Guns and Swords at his disposal. The fight with Spawn in #13 was brutal

2. Redeemer. Just freakin awesome. He gets cooler every time I see him. And all his fights with Spawn are great.

3. Violator. He is awesome in his Clown form. All of his fights with Spawn are also awesome. I love how when he goes on murder sprees he pulls their hearts out of their chest.

4. Gunslinger Spawn. Havent read the issues with him fighting Spawn but he sure looks awesome.

5. The Freak. Once again, havent read the issues with him in them yet ( I am only on # 21) but I know most of his story and he looks psycho.
Mine are

1. Me. I hate spawn.
Why Do People Prefer Anime/Manga Over Comics?????
I, for one, find comics much cooler and more original than most of the anime stuff. I am not an "anime hater." Because I am a fan of Death Note and Bleach. But I would much rather read about Deadpool owning other mercs with guns or a good old brutal Spawn and Violator fight. Many of the anime fans claim that comics aren't as cool and are cheesy. They aren't cheesy. They are original and the villains are much better. Anyone can come up with a guy with long grey hair named Sephiroth, but it takes imagination for someone to create someone like Joker. Not trying to start some sort of Comics vs Anime war, just stating my opinion, so lets hear yours....
Soccer speed demon - I too prefer American comics, but am still a fan of certain mangas and animes. Having seen a few questions similar to this, I already know without reading through the responses that many of them will be from people who have never read or even heard of a decent American comic, and just assume they are all superheroes.

edit: now to address some of these responses:

"Well....for one, the drawings are much more detailed and 'exquisite.' "
More detailed? Please find me manga art more detailed or 'exquisite' than any of these:

comics.imakinarium.net/autores/d/…
www.comicdepotllc.com/images/post…

"Also, the animes and mangas can usually relate to real-life much better than comics can,"
Really? Name me one manga biography. I can name a dozen Western comics biographies off the top of my head.

" and the comics' drawings are a bit too...cartoon-y for people to relate to and things."
Really? This is cartoony?
kleinletters.com/LetteringImages/…
And this isn't cartoony?
www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerd…
You're speaking in ignorant generalizations. Both Western and Eastern comics are capable of being cartoony and more serious, in art and story.

"From my personal experience, the plots of manga are much more in-depth and thought out than regular comics."
Compare one manga to MAUS, or Persepolis, or Sandman. I could actually name a few, but I'd be impressed if you honestly could.

"The art is usually more attractive to me,"
All well and good, that's your personal opinion.

"and the plots don't have to be action-based."
Neither do American comics. Look at Strangers in Paradise, American Splendor, Box Office Poison, Love and Rockets. I can name hundreds more.

"Most everyday comics from america are super-hero like, which I just am not interested in."
Yes, most are - but most mangas are things like Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Pokemon, etc. - not much different or better from superheroes. And again, I can name hundreds of title which ARE NOT superheroes. You assume all of them are because that's the most popular genre. But if you judged manga by the most popular titles, again, you'd be looking at things like Dragonball, Naruto, Inuyasha, YuGiOh, etc.

"Anime & Manga is more original in my opinion. Why? Because there are much more different styles and genres then in comics. Manga can range from funny to serious or from Romantic to horror."
Again, I still cannot believe you are a top contributor in this section when you are this ignorant. American comics touch on every genre, as well. Funny? Try anything written by Dan Slott, or characters like Deadpool. Serious? Try MAUS. Find me a manga more 'serious' than MAUS. Romantic? Love and Rockets, Strangers in Paradise, Spider-Man loves Mary Jane. Horror? The Walking Dead, 30 Days of Night, Tales from the Crypt.
I have been trying get back into reading venom comics.does he still have his own series?
he shouldn't be protrayed as a bad guy cause alot of times his goal always was to protect the innocents unless he has changed now.after his battles with spiderman he started to help people less fortunate and did a better job then spidey at it.
i know his brand of justice was somewhat brutal he still got the job done.
as you can tell im an old venom fan and in some cases a carnage fan.does eddie brock still have the costume?

the last comics i have of venom are these
1.enemy within
2.the mace
3.the madness
4.the hunger
5.planet of the symbiotes
6.maximum clonage
Venom's heroic and more honorable traits have been stripped, but there is a new character named Toxin that is Carnage's symbiote guy that is the new heroic symbiote out there. He has a mini-series about two years ago.

Venom's most recent mini-series was a few years back and it focused solely on a symbiote not connected to Brock. Not something worth reading.

Since his heroic days, Venom disappeared for a bit. It was revealed that the symbiote feeds off of adrenaline and that Eddie Brock had cancer. Without the suit, Brock would eventually die of the cancer. (Spectacular Spider-man: Hunger) Next Eddie Brock decided to get rid of the costume and auctioned it to the criminal underground where it was purchased by Angelo Fortunato, but the symbiote eventually rejected Angelo allowing him to die. The symbiote has now attached itself to Mac Gargan formerly the Scorpion. (Marvel Knights: Spider-man: Venomous) The Mac Gargan/Venom is now a part of the Thunderbolts (which somewhat puts him back in heroics although forced). Eddie Brock is currently appearing in Spectacular Spider-man recovering from attempted suicide and undergoing cancer treatment in the same hospital that Aunt May is in a coma. It's a great issue in the progression of the character of Eddie Brock.
Is it possible to separate brutal forced sadistic sexual fantasies from day to day misogyny in real life?
Is it possible to separate brutal forced sadistic sexual fantasies from day to day misogyny in real life

Since I was 9 years old, I've had fantasies about raping and torturing women, although nothing that would damage the merchandise. So I'm not turned on by mutilation or snuff since it damages the property. But pretty much anything short of that, including brutal beatings. I'm so turned on by the idea of putting a woman in her place, humiliating, degrading her, reducing her to less than feces. I masturbate constantly to rape porn, stories, comics, pictures, movies, I spend all day searching for on the internet.

I don't think its effected my real life, day to day interactions with women. If anything, at first it made me a bit of a feminist, since I was more perceptive of exploitative male-female relations.

But lately I've felt less guilty about my rape fantasies. And resent women for making me a 27 year old virgin. I've grown to hate women, both sexually and in "Real life". They're so cruel to me just because I'm socially awkward. So why should I feel bad for them? Of course by women, I really mean young, white, attractive girls.

So is this a serious problem or just a lifestyle choice?
This is potentially serious, and possibly indicative of mental disorder; at some point fantasy will lead to experimentation if an opportunity presents. The majority of researchers in this area classify at least some rape as a paraphilia (Healy, 2006), which consists of either, sexual sadism or a having a nonconsenting partner or the infliction of suffering or humiliation of one's partner. By definition. Paraphilia is a mental disorder wherein sexual stimulation is derived from anything other than normal heterosexual intercourse. How assignment of sexual stimulation to toes, an inanimate object, or violence occurs is not well understood; but, exposure to stimuli concurrent with sexual stimulation leads to a neurological connection between the two in the brain. Fantasy strengthens the connection, as does fantasy coupled with physical self-stimulation.

If you seriously do not want to harm some innocent female, you need to seek psychological help. The best source would be a psychologist experienced with sexual offenders, even if you have not committed any crimes. This is a complex problem that not every counselor is capable of dealing with.
Is fear the best method for control?
For example, if the government wanted total control over the populace, would they be preaching of love and compassion and how the government is their friend, or having armed guards on every corner and brutal punishments for resistors?
I was reading comics earlier btw.
The carrot an stick methods works best for most: reward cooperation and punish resistance.
Why is Watchmen such a popular movie among guys?
I went to see Watchmen with my brother, thinking it would be like X-Men or Superman, that kind of thing. It turned out to be gruesome, brutal, and in my opinion, pointless. We walked out when the little boy chews up the face of the guy. Guys I have talked to said it was very good, and I should have stayed to see the ending. They have also read the comic book version. Can a guy (or girls, if you thought it was good) tell me why this is supposed to be such a fantastic movie?
I'm a girl, and I thought it was just okay.

I thought it drug on, there wasn't enough action/plot in the beginning, and it featured the longest most awkward sex scene I've ever seen. I did stay till the end though. I will say I also thought it was grusomely violent, I don't mind violence. I'm an aficionado for horror movies, but this one was way over the top.
Don't you wish they made a Rated R Batman movie?
Everyone who has read the original comics knows that Batman is a dark, brutal, grim and gritty vigilante. Gotham is a dark city with crime, grime, corruption, and a deep-seated sense of urban decay. Basically not for "guys". The Dark Knight was dark but they only scratched the surface. Maybe a live-action movie adaption of Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. What do you think?
That would be awesome.

Apparently Frank Miller has expressed interest in making the film and gave Zack Snyder (300, upcoming WATCHMEN) his blessing to direct the film.

www.slashfilm.com/2008/07/26/zack-snyder-interested-in-the-dark-knight-returns-movie/

Who knows if that will happen though after the great success The Dark Knight was...

We'll see what the future holds...
